Outdoor painters from all over Northern California will set up their easels and paint the beauty of Benicia during the 4th Annual Benicia Plein Air Paint-Out on Saturday, August 24. Hosted by Benicia Plein Air Gallery, this popular event combines a plein air painting competition with a festive community reception, art exhibit and sale.
Registration is now FULL.
As of August 20, we are now creating a waiting list. If any spots open up, artists on the waiting list will be notified in the order in which they have signed up for the waiting list. If you'd like to be added to the waiting list please e-mail us at email@example.com to let us know, and we'll give you some more instructions.
We hope to see you there!
The party kicks off at the gallery at 4 p.m. with Benicia Mayor Elizabeth Patterson presenting the artists' awards, and continues until 6 p.m. with an al fresco reception, exhibit and sale showcasing all of the day's freshly-created paintings. Tour the exhibit, meet the artists, enjoy light refreshments and purchase your favorite artwork at this free, family-friendly event.
During the day art lovers are welcome to chat with the painters in action. You'll spot them along the waterfront, at the historic Capitol Building, the Clock Tower, and many other scenic viewpoints around town. In the late afternoon participants will frame and hang their work in the gallery's courtyard, and award winners will be selected by nationally-acclaimed artist Carolyn Lord.
